I'm eagerly awaiting the new Harry Potter movie (Book six was awesome and I'm re-reading book four in anticipation), and I was about to watch the trailer again when I noticed the movie is rated PG-13. That's a hell of a rating for what's commonly thought of as a "kid's movie." I was telling my uncle about the sixth book and told him that I think by the time they get there, the sixth movie will be PG-13. Looks like I was two movies late. Oops.

I'm willing to bet that book six ends up with an 'R' rating. A few items near the end are way too intense for anything less under the current guidelines.

There's a whole section that reads like something out of Stephen King. You know the part I mean.

I don't think the end necessarily needs an R rating. I think it would be easy to pull it off with a PG-13.
